Our Prairie in Fibre

Unfortunately this collection was showed to the public 5 years ago, but the video is a wonderful narration of the pieces chosen. Women working in fibre arts from across the prairies showcasing a deep connection to the land. I am so happy this post captures the essence of what the curated space must have been like to walk through. Enjoy this DailyFind, love from CW!

A collection of fibre art from women across Alberta, Saskachewan and Manitoba. This exhibition celebrates the abundant spectrum of Fibre Art while exploring each woman’s intimate connection with her Prairie. Curator, Monika Kinner-Whalen said, “I wanted to walk into a room where anyone who entered would be enveloped with the deep bond between the artist and their homeland … The bond between woman and her prairie became undeniable as an interlocking theme that connects all the pieces together.”
